Charity Fun Show - 2009

The “Charity Fun Show” for May 16th 2009 ended early due to Thunder Storms. Even with the rain, this has been the biggest turnout in Double Rainbow Farms - Charity Fun Show History, with more than 300 spectators and 40 Riders/Competitors.

There were 8 vendors selling a variety of foods and refreshments for all who attended this years festivities. We would like to thank all who came out to join us to celebrate yet another year of giving at Double Rainbow Farm.

As most of you know, on May 16th 2008, Double Rainbow Farm burned to the ground, taking all tools, tack, hay and even some newborn baby chicks along with it. Even in the darkest of times, with the help of so many who prayed for our salvation and recovery efforts, we remained focused on our goals for Double Rainbow Farms growth within the community, and through God’s love, understanding and compassion, the Phoenix Has risen from these ashes, and what has emerged is nothing short of a miracle, bringing forth...   A New... Beginning...   A brand new day.

...”For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

forever... Amen.”

Matthew 6: 9-13

A very special thank you goes out to everyone who has helped us to build our new barn and arena, who have also helped us to remain... “Saddled With Hope.”

We are looking to start construction on our indoor riding arena this summer, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we undertake this new addition to Double Rainbow Farm, Therapeutic Recreational Riding Facility.

If you or someone you know would like to give hope a helping hand, please call us today at

(814) 757-9158. You will be so glad you did.

This years Charity Fun Show brought in nearly $2,000.00.

The High Point Trophy award for the junior class division, was won by Ashley Carter.

The High Point Trophy award for the Pee Wee division, was won for the 2nd year in a row by Nizzi Delaney.

The “Guess My Weight” prize for the July 18th Pig Roast was won by Sandy & Butch Rockwell.

A very special Thank You goes out to the “50-50” contest winner, who donated $50.00 of their winnings back to Double Rainbow Farm.

“It is not the amount that you give that makes a difference. It’s the love... behind it.”

Two of the draft horses that were rescued in March of this year, have found new homes at the draft horse rescue facility in Maryland.

A horse named Dixie that was a rescue, has found a new home as well; at Double Rainbow Farm, and will be used for driving a cart that will give rides for the Therapeutic Riding Program.

A special Note: If you or someone you know has a story of inspiration as to how Double Rainbow Farm has changed your life, please let us know so that we may add it in future issues of our “In The Now” newsletter.
